Hello there friends,
December marked one full year for me of memory keeping using the Happy Planner! In case you missed any of the flips, I created a playlist on YouTube to make them easy to find.
I’m posting a few pics of my pages here too, but be sure to keep scrolling to check out my video for the full flip at the end of this post.
As you saw in my November flip, I purchased the Botanical Garden Happy Planner. Since it was one of the 18 month planners which were released last summer, I was able to begin my 2nd year of daily memory keeping in December – the dividers in this planner are just too pretty and I couldn’t wait to begin! And since my birthday is also in December, I see the month as the beginning of my personal year – the perfect time to start a shiny, new planner!
These two images are from the MeAndMyBigIdeas website. Aren’t these dividers just gorgeous?
I also decided to freshen up my approach to my daily memory keeping with some new ideas. If you’ve checked out any of my other posts or videos, you know I’ve been doing a monthly list in each of my monthly calendars.
This year, I changed things up by creating a collection for each month. December’s collection is the Zodiac, and specifically Sagittarius-themed items, since I am a card-carrying Sagittarian. I “collected” my finds on a Zodiac-themed Pinterest board and then printed my favorites and created a collage on my monthly page. Here’s December’s starry collection:
This year’s planner also came with a Currently list on each month’s dashboard, which I didn’t have in last year’s Gold Polka Dot planner. I decided to use it as a place to have fun decorating with a seasonal theme and keep the Currently list as a quick snapshot of the flavor of my month.
Here’s one of those lovely dividers with a journaling card added for decoration.
In 2017 I wanted to create more of a framework for each week’s layout, including space for 8 or 9 images, some notes and journaling, boxes simply for decoration and also room for stamping.
I celebrated my birthday during the the first week of the month. Jose and I went out for dinner and dancing in St. Paul, MN.
I really wanted to decorate with a “theme” during each week this year, so for the second week of the month, I created a winter woodland theme with stickers, washi and scrapbook paper. I also included stamping in the form of a weekly “to do” list.
For Christmas, we were able to visit Jose’s family in California. It was so lovely to get out of the cold and spend some time in the sunshine 🙂
Be sure to check out my video flip for all this month’s pages!
Wishing you a wonderful week, friends!
