Hello there, friends!
I’m almost caught up on my summer memory keeping and my May pages are ready to share with you!
Since I was getting busy in May for some summer travels, I ran with the theme of travel patches for my May dashboard. I found images online of our destinations including Venice, Paris, Madrid, Rome, London and more!
I also decorated my monthly spread with a European travel theme.
My monthly list highlighted my favorite experiences of our travels such as drinking tea in London, floating down the Grand Canal in Venice and visiting the Hall of 500 that Jose and I had learned about several months earlier in a documentary on Netflix titled The DaVinci Detective.
I cut out the cute little octopus cartoons from our sushi boxes at One Two Three Sushi to use on my week one layout. Aren’t they cute?
Week two of May was all about finishing up the research for our travel itinerary. I love the Rick Steves European travel book series – really up-to-date with helpful logistical information.
Finally we were ready to depart! During week three, we visited London, Venice and Florence. I am absolutely enamored with the architecture, history and art of European cities – and of course I love all of the shopping opportunities too! In addition to having dinner with family in London, we saw Big Ben, Buckingham Palace and the British Museum. We wandered around Venice for a day and enjoyed real Italian pizza on St. Mark’s Square. A day later, in Florence, we took in the Uffizi Gallery, a wonderful street market and Brunelleschi’s Dome.
In the fourth week of the month, we traveled on to Rome, Vatican City, Paris, Toledo and Madrid – we definitely packed a lot of sights into the second week!! We made stops at the Roman Coliseum, St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City, the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre Museum in Paris, and then moved on to Spain where we visited the Prado Museum in Madrid and the historical city of Toledo.
Since were we scheduled to fly out of Ireland on the last day of the month, we took a day trip to the western coast to view the Cliffs of Moher, near Galway. They were absolutely stunning to experience in person!
Thanks so much for stopping by to check out my monthly flip through and I hoped you enjoyed seeing a few of my favorite photos from my trip!
